Palawan is an island province proclaimed as a nature refuge of the world. The island is packed with rainforest, finest dive spots, wonderful mountain ranges, primordial caves and unspoiled beaches. It is enclosed with coral shelf that thrives with various and multicolored marine creatures. The island brags of glamorous flora and fauna, such as mouse deer and the flaking anteater that are most seen elsewhere.
Known as the diver’s paradise that offers the finest water in the world. The coast is surrounded by a mile stretch of coral surface, colorful reef and coves swarming with abundant marine creatures. Picturesque wonders is what makes the province brags to explorers. Giraffes and elands, zebras and gazelles exist mutually with the prevalent Philippine animals in the Calauit Island Wildlife Sanctuary situated in Busuanga, claimed to be one of the most wonderful spots of the province. Palawan lies roughly 586 kilometers from Manila bounded by Mindoro Island on the north, Borneo on the south, on the west is China Sea and Sulu Sea on the east. EXPLORATIONS
El Nido Marine Reserve The El Nido Marine Reserve which can be found in Miniloc, El Nido, having an area of 96,000 hectares, is a famous nature site in the province. Among its natural resources which makes them brags the most are its diverse ecosystems like rainforests, mangroves, white sand beaches, coral reefs, and limestone reefs as well as a variety of fishes, like manta ray and the sea cow or ""dugong,"" known as the world's rarest marine mammal. The location has now turn to be the country’s prime tourist’s objective because of its splendid natural panorama and being the asylum of several appearances of wildlife.

Curtain walls connect these two structures. However, the front curtain wall does not describe a straight line but is comes to an apex, where there is secondary entrance to the fort. This entrance does not lead directly into the fort but into a blind enclosure, apparently a type of blind opening to catch invaders off guard.
Tabon Cave and Museum The Tabon cave complex is situated on Lipuun Point, Quezon, Palawan . It is a 138-hectares, of rough cliffs and profound slopes. Uncovered by the late Dr. Robert B. Fox an American Archaeologist from the National Museum in 1962. The exploration of the caves have acquired a significant Archaeological find - Fossil human bones tentatively dated from 22,000 to 24,000 years ago. Excavations were done from 1962 to 1970. Of the 200 caves found in Lipuun Point only 29 caves were fully explored, including Tabon Cave, which were found to been used for habitation and / or burial sites by ancient people.
Due to its significance to Philippine History and heritage, the spot was proclaimed a Museum Reservation Site by virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 996 in 1972 by the Philippine Government. Out of the 29 uncovered caves, only three caves are accessible or open for the visitors. The Tabon cave complex is presently being preserved and administered by the National Museum.
Tabon cave complex is a 30-minute banca ride from the town of Quezon, a Southern municipality of Palawan. It is 155 kilometers away from Puerto Princesa City.
Tubbattaha Reefs A marine refuge situated in the center of Central Sulu Sea, 98 nautical miles southeast of Puerto Princesa City. Proclaimed as the World Natural Heritage spot by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) on December 1993, it is under protective administration by the Department of National Defense (DND). It is under technical supervision by the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development (PCSD) & the Department of Environment & Natural Resources {DENR). It is located in Cagayancillo town, Palawan. Trips to Tubbattaha from mid-March to mid-June are all vessel-based and require planning for a minimum of six weeks prior to departure. To reach the place, take a 70-minute flight from Manila to Puerto Princesa City. From the airport, a shuttle bus takes you to the dive boat. Boat ride from Puerto Princesa City takes approximately 12 hours.
Coron Island Coron Island marks an exceptional natural environments. Coron island including its encircling islets was initially proclaimed a National Reserve by virtue of Proclamation # 219 on July 2, 1967. In 1978, another declaration # 1801 proclaimed the island a Tourist Zone and Marine Reserve. This was made possible by the management to the Philippine Tourism Authority. This declaration was followed by Proclamation 2152, declaring the entire province a Mangrove Swamp Forest Reserve. Likewise, in 1990, a Community Forest Stewardship Agreement (CFSA) was issued by DENR to the Tagbanua Foundation of Coron Island which covered about 7,748 has. Finally, with the passage of NIPAS Act in 1992, it was listed part of the priority protected areas.
Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park or Palawan’s underwater cave topped the live ranking in Seven Wonders of the World forests, national parks and nature reserves category list.
The site is situated in Bahile, Puerto Princesa, Palawan 81 kilometers awat from the heart of the town. The location can accessed through Barangay Cabayugan to Sabang, from where one could take a boat ride to the Underground River for aboue 10 to 15 minutes, or take a walk through a monkey trail.
Honday Bay Palawan has about 1,770 islands yet one of the least developed holiday destinations in Southeast Asia. So far the lack of commercialism has made Palawan very elite, but it is becoming more popular particularly for international divers, as well as voyagers. The ideal place for sun seeking and snorkeling is Honda Bay, which has several islets including Cannon Island, Bat Island and Starfish Island, with coral reefs breaking crystal clear water onto empty, fine white sand beaches. Ursula Island Game Refuge and Bird Sanctuary Ursula island is a tiny white sand island with natural vegetation including many pandanus trees. The island is very wonderful having clear water and white coral pieces on the beach where anybody can take pleasure on swimming other family activities.
“A home for migratory birds." This island is a haven for birds that converge here two hours before sunset, to take their rest after a day's long flight. It is located in Rio, Tuba Village, Bataraza, Palawan. About 236 kilometers from Puerto Princesa City, the town of Bataraza can be reached by bus or jeepney which departs daily from the city. From Bataraza, proceed to Rio Tuba and then take a pumpboat ride to Ursula Island. Bataraza is 5-6 hours’ drive from Puerto Princesa City. The bird sanctuary is about 2 hours’ pumpboat ride from Rio Tuba.
Calauit Game Preserve and Wildlife Sanctuary The Calauit Game Preserve and Wildlife Sanctuary is situated inside the territory Calauit Island in the northwestern portion of Busuanga, the principal island of the Calamianes, Northern Palawan. It is divided from Busuanga by widespread mangroves and the Ditapic Channel, where the waters of Illultuk Bay and the Ditapic River of Busuanga stream eastward. The spot has covered a total land area of about 3,760 hectares, wherein about 40% is open rangeland, 20% moderately rolling, and 40% hill areas.
Average elevation is 50 meters above sea level (50 masl) with the highest point in Namultan Range with 237masl. It consists of four major creeks that have sections that are frequently dried out during summer, except the Abanaban Creek that retains water even during the driest month due to an intact watershed. It has a pronounced wet season from May to November and a dry season from December to April. Average monthly rainfall is 39.4 inches, while annual precipitation is at 139.4 inches. Mean temperature is recorded at 27.6 centigrade. The marine zone area is approximated at 252 square kilometers, which is delineated seven kilometers from the mean sea level.
Palawan Butterfly Garden Palawan Butterfly Garden is located in Barangay Sta. Monica, just only 20 minutes away from the center of Puerto Princesa City. Its collection holds butterflies not only endemic to the province but also from other parts of Southeast Asia.
