This was how TV-host actress Kris Aquino herself described the way she confronted husband James Yap’s fan Mayen Austria, the Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP) reported Friday.

According to the showbiz net source, Kris confided her side to Yes! Magazine – media partner of PEP – Editor-in-Chief Jo Ann Maglipon regarding the sizzling issue via phone call even before it sparked media buzz.

This was the actress’s retort after her sister forwarded to her a circulating text message that, according to her, was supposed to be considered as a “domestic issue” and not a political one.

The text message contained (Published as is):

"To everyone. Kris Aquino passed by house to make me sugod. She spoke to my mom. Very mad, berating us saying i always text and call james. That my mom didn't bring me up right. That we shouldn't be talking to married men. She said she's leaving james and to know that i am the last straw and the reason for their break-up. My family has great respect for Teopacos who are our family friend. Mrs. Teopaco is Cory's youngest sister. My mom raised us right. My mom didn't deserve all that. James missed called and texted na he warned me pupunta siya [Kris] sa house. He called me to apologize and say sorry. Kris said we had something going on. I don't deserve this. Most especially my mom. I have chemical depression and could have easily taken an overdose of pills because of the incident. With the hugs and love of my mom and sisters, and tranquilizers, i'm okay. Do you want Kris to be in malacanang."

Kris admitted that she did went to Austria’s residence, which is just “two streets away” from hers, at Valle Verde 2 sa Pasig City on January 13, at around 4:00 p.m. and said that the exchanges that occurred were "frank" but "polite," "honest" but "civil."

Moreover, the prized ABS-CBN talent shared that she decided to talk to Austria after hearing her mobile phone conversation with James.

The basketball star answered the phone in front of her so she overheard that Yap was talking to a woman who was crying. Kris remembered her words as "James, what's wrong with me? Ginawa ko na ang lahat, pero wala pa rin..." and that James responded, "Kung ayaw sa iyo, huwag mo nang ipilit pa..."

After the call, Kris asked her husband what that was about and learned from that the woman was Mayen and that her boyfriend left her.

Though Kris already knew Mayen since they went to the same exclusive high school for girls, James told her that he met Mayen as a fan of the Purefoods team and that she sometimes confide her problems to him.

"May problema siya? Ano naman ang kinalaman mo doon? Ano ang pakialam mo sa buhay niya? Bakit ikaw ang guguluhin niya," Kris told James.

She also said to the editor that she even gave herself as an example to him as she does not cry to other men her problems because she is married.

Her other argument, according to PEP, revolved on this: Hindi yata tama na ang isang babae ay tumatawag sa lalaking may asawa para magsabi ng mga problema nito. Dapat ay guidance counsellor, isang malapit na kaibigang babae, kapatid, magulang, o iba pang may direktang kinalaman sa buhay niya ang konsultahin niya. Mas maraming alam ang mga ito tungkol sa history niya at mas makakatulong ang mga ito sa kanya.

She also told him that she will go to Mayen to clarify things.

Hours after their conversation, James left to bring son James to see a movie. This is when Kris decided to go and talk to Mayen, especially after baby Jame’s godmother Rina Teopaco informed her that James called Mayen and warned her of Kris’s reaction.

Kris’s version of the encounter

With friend make-up artist Bambbi Fuentes, who was at their house by that time, Kris went to the Austrias.

According to Kris, her plan was to stay outside of their house with Bammbi waiting in the van so that no scandal would happen, and that this is what exactly happened.

Mayen’s mother was the one who opened the door for her and offered her to come in but she cordially refused. Kris added, "The mom knows me because another daughter had a charity before and I donated to it. And they know my cousins."

Kris calmly but clearly stated to Mayen’s mom her reasons for going there. She related that she is worried with her daughter phoning her husband and that, without meaning anything else, it is not helping their marriage. She also admitted that up to the moment and as everybody knows, they are still trying to work things out.

This is why, still according to the actress, her daughter’s action is bothering her and could probably lead to the "demise of this marriage." She also told the mother that she wants to strengthen her union with James so that Baby James and Josh would have a complete family. She again clarified that she does not want to create any mishap so she decided to come personally to talk.

The mother responded, "There must be a misunderstanding. Wait, I will call her..."

Afterwards, Mayen went out and Kris said that she had an unpleasant tone when she said: "James said I should say sorry. But why should I? I didn't do anything wrong!"

Kris, then, advised her to go to a guidance counselor if she wants to receive an advice regardingher lovelife “and not to a married man."

When Mayen answered that she told Kris that James is a long-time friend, the popular host admitted saying, "Don't cross the line!"

Mayen explained that she seldom calls James and from there, there had been hot exchanges between her and Kris but in the end, Kris said that she was satisfied that her actions were just right. She even thanked the mother for listening to her side. To her, she just wanted to make a move to fight for her husband and children, a thing that a wife and mother should do.

The other side

Up to this point, Austria’s camp cannot be contacted for interviews.

However, Gabby Lopez –who introduced himself as Mayen’s uncle – confirmed that Kris made a fiery commotion as she stayed for 10 minutes at the Austria’s gate.

Meanwhile, Bishop Baylon – who was a guest in Mayen’s house at that time related that he learned of the incident, “when Mayen, between sobs, related to us the incident immediately after Kris left."

No other details were shared.
